What 8 year old boy's life would be complete without hours of quality time on the couch? The boys are no exception and they spend a particularly large amount of their time on Cartman’s couch. The four boys sitting on the couch is similar to the bus stop in it’s importance to the show. It serves as a natural setting to exchange dialogue and drive plot points through conversation of the characters, while doubling as a predictable place for an 8 year old to be.
Between watching Terrence and Phillip, playing Guitar Queer-O or prank calling City Wok (Herro shitty wok, take order pre?) the boys have had countless scenes on the iconic couch.
Fun facts:
The picture of Cartman and his mom at Mt. Rushmore has been in the series since the pilot although it originally appeared with Cartman’s “Dad” and brother. The picture is actually a real photograph, with Cartman and mom added in, taken by one of the show’s producers while they were on vacation in South Dakota.
The girl in the picture frame in “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe” is Matt Stone’s sister.
Kenny has died only once on the couch
