Story
Description
The entire country freaks out when the HBC TV show Cop Drama uses the word 'shit' uncensored. Suddenly everyone (including South Park's children, along with their parents and teachers) starts dropping the S bomb. At the same time a mysterious disease, which causes its victims to puke up their intestines, sweeps the land.
Kyle and the boys, with Chef's help, discover that the plague is triggered by excessive use of the word "shit" -- which is referred to in ancient texts as a "word of curse." The more it's used, the worse things will get. And it's about to be used a lot more, because HBC plans an evening of live, shit-laden shows called "Must Shit TV."
Chef and the boys travel to Hollywood to talk the HBC executives out of their plans. But their attempt is preempted by an ancient warrior from the Royal Order of Standards and Practices. He storms the network's boardroom, attempting to use an ancient rune stone to expose one of execs as "Gelden," an evil dragon that will be resurrected by excessive swearing and lay waste to the world.
Instead he's shot to pieces by security, crashes through a window and lands on the sidewalk at the boys' feet. He gives them his rune stone before he dies, but doesn't explain how to use it.
In order to divine the ancient relic's purpose, Kenny, Kyle, Cartman, Stan and Chef head for the nearest repository of wizards and ancient wisdom -- The Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. There, a wizard explains that the Runestone of Undoing has the power to send Gelden back to the underworld.
The Knights attack the studio during Must Shit TV, but too late to prevent the dragon's appearance. Just then Chef and the boys arrive and use the rune stone to drive the demon back into the underworld. Having learned his lesson, the President of HBC vows never to use the word, "shit" again. Kenny vomits up his intestines and dies.
What I Learned Today
"Swearing can be fun, but doing it all the time causes a lot of problems."

Characters
Character Debuts
When the boys ask Chef what the Black Death might be, he replies, "LaToya Jackson, children." Also, the program singled out for abuse on Must Shit TV night is a parody of the Drew Carey Show.
Body Count
Numerous townspeople fall victim to the black plague and vomit out their intestines (including Kenny). An HBC Exec is decapitated by the red-haired Knight of Standards and Practices - immediately after, the Knight is shot to death by HBC security guards.
Geldon the Dragon raises hell and kills a number of people in the studio audience, before being relinquished back into the depths of the earth.
Drew Carey and Mimi (from The Drew Carey Show) are both hacked to pieces by the Knights.

Shout Outs
The phrase Must Shit TV is a pretty obvious twist on NBC's old Must See TV Thursday-night lineup.
Kyle has four tickets to see The Lion King musical, but no one wants to see it with him. Instead, they watch Cop Drama.
Cartman shares his hypothesis about Kyle's irritability by reading from a Nancy Drew novel, "Nancy goes to the beach and gets sand trapped in her shoe. This could explain how Kyle got it in his vagina."
Pwn'd
HBC Network Executives, the marketing geniuses behind the whole "shit" phenomenon.
Bonus Factoids
Pointless Observations
In addition to saying "shit," Mr. Garrison constantly uses the word "fag" -- which isn't bleeped when he utters it because he's gay. When straight characters attempt to use the word, they're bleeped -- except for Jimbo. "Guess we learned something new about you, Jimbo, you freakin' fag!" Mr. Garrison says. "You wanna make out or something?"
Butters shows his first signs of rebellion here, as he's seen graffiti-ing his name on the side of a building. He'll fully embrace his dark side in "Professor Chaos".
The HBC Television Network makes its South Park debut. HBC can be seen in many future episodes, providing both news and programming to the boys.
Chef and Principal Victoria are in bed together, watching Cop Drama.
The word "shit" is uttered exactly 162 times. Even Timmy manages to squeeze one out. Cartman, disheartened that the word has lost its potency, decides to say other things, such as "Mee Krob" (or "meecrob", as it's spelled in the ancient book of Runestones). He explains that it's, " the stuff you get as an appetizer at Thai food restaurants. Meecrob is way grosser than shit, dude. I'd scarf down a whole wet bucket full of shit before I ate another plate of meecrob."
