Story
Description
Cartman holds an emergency meeting with the fourth grade boys to disclose a shocking secret regarding the girls. They have a mystical relic that allows them to see the future. After showing recorded footage of the girls operating this "Future Telling Deviceâ, it in reality is just a paper fortune teller kids typically make, the boys immediately put a complex plan in motion to steal the device.
It's decided that Butters must fake his own death and pose as a new female student, so he can infiltrate a slumber party hosted by classmate Heidi Turner and steal the device. His death is faked by dropping a dead pig dressed in his clothes from the Bowery Building in front of a large crowd and Buttersâ parents. A funeral for Butters takes place soon after.
At school Ms. Garrison introduces a new female student -- a girl from Dallas named Marjorine. Her "motherâ Cartman phones Heidi's mother and secures an invitation to the slumber party. However, Marjorine doesn't fit in with the girls and is reduced to tears by their cruel insults. When Marjorine locks herself in the bathroom, Wendy and Bebe realize they have been too hard on her. The girls apologize and attempt to comfort Marjorine with the promise of a makeover. The boys, keeping watch from outside, grow worried and check up on Marjorine, only to find her dolled up, happily partying to Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body" with the rest of the girls.
Meanwhile, Butters' parents are hysterical over the loss of their son. Desperate to console his wife, Stephen follows the ominous warning (or advice) from a creepy farmer and digs up Buttersâ fake pig body. Stephen reburies the body in an old Indian cemetery as a Pagan ritual in hopes of resurrecting Butters, aware the resurrected may return as an abomination.
Back at the party, Heidi's father spots the boys outside and angrily exclaims so. Figuring the boys' plan has been discovered, Marjorine grabs the device and quickly escapes. However, she refuses to accompany the boys back to Cartman's house, where they've set up a high-tech "containment field" to house the artifact. Saying the device is nothing but trouble, Marjorine removes her wig, wipes off her make up and goes home.
The boys take the device to their hideout but decide that Butters is right. Its power is too great and will bring disaster to whoever possesses it. They move the device to the woods and allow Kenny to blow it up, who creates an explosion needlessly large enough to be seen from space.
Butters arrives home to tell his parents he isn't dead. They are horrified upon seeing Butters, as they are convinced he has been resurrected as an âunholy demon spawnâ. Instead of welcoming him back, they chain him up and lock him in the basement. When he says he is hungry, his parents kill a saleswoman and offer her body for Butters "to feed on." He prefers some SpaghettiOs instead.
What I Learned Today
"That time device is nothing but trouble!"

Characters
Character Debuts
Marjorine, Butters' female alter ego.
Heidi Turner, the 4th grade girl with brown hair and a lime green shirt. She's been in several episodes before (such as "Probably" and "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset"), but she gets her first big role here. Her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, make their debuts as well.
Although they aren't formally introduced, two other 4th grade girls have their quasi-debut: Isla (the brown-haired girl with a red shirt, shown operating The Device with Bebe and the girls in the beginning), and Esther (the black-haired girl with the aqua jacket, as shown on Cartman's "Surveillance Targets" board).
Body Count
The saleswoman who is killed by Butters' dad so that his "undead" son could "feed." There's also the dead pig that the boys dress up as Butters and toss off a building.
Locations
Behind The Scenes
Where Did The Idea Come From
Trey and Matt think there's too much going on in this episode. About 50 percent too much, to be exact. Either of the stories -- Butters rising from the grave, or dressing up as Marjorine to steal the girls' fortune-telling device -- could easily have stood alone.
Pop Culture References
Pet Sematary
When the guy with the thick Maine accent knocks on the door and tells Butters' dad about the Indian graveyard - that's basically the plot of Pet Sematary. The King version ends even scarier than this one.
Shout Outs
Heidi, the slumber party hostess, has a poster for a line of toy dolls called Twerpz tacked to a wall. It's a spoof of the Bratz dolls.
Cartman's plot to infiltrate the girls' slumber party (by dressing up one of the boys as a chick) bears striking resemblence to the 2002 film Juwanna Mann, which Kevin directly points out. Cartman gets pissed, "No, not like Juwanna Mann, Kevin, okay? It's WAY cooler than that!"
Red brings the new Justin Timberlake CD (Justified) to the slumber party. Later, they all dance to Timberlake's dance hall hit "Rock Your Body." The girls also play "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board," which is a popular levitation game played at slumber parties.
The containment facility the boys build to house the "Future Telling Device" looks a lot like the containment center set up outside of Elliot's house in the classic film E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. This was also parodied in Season 2's "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls."
Bonus Factoids
Pointless Observations
Butters' grave marker bears the following Biblical quote: "Jesus said 'Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.' Matt. 11:28."
Cartman uses his Wellington Bear Video Camera to capture the surveillance footage of the girls -- a new device in the growing Wellington Bear catalogue. He similarly uses his Speak and Record Bear to catch Shelly and Skyler in "Cat Orgy."
At Heidi's slumber party, there's a Barbie-esque Paris Hilton doll on the floor. This comes from "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset" . There's also a board game called Blister, a parody of Twister.
Clyde and Cartman seem to get along strangely well in this episode -- despite the fact that Clyde has admitted to hating Cartman on multiple occasions.
