About
Towelie was originally manufactured by Tynacorp, a sentient Smart Towel RG-400 designed to make people dry as needed - or, according to Tynacorp's enemies, to make them too dry. After discovering marijuana, he got high and sort of wandered off, and soon found himself in the town of South Park, where he eventually began trailing the boys, offering them towel advice and later getting them embroiled in a TynaCorp plot involving Gary, Towelie's successor; his relationship with the boys allowed Towelie to develop compassion before escaping at last.
Now free to live his own life, he tried to make it in Chicago as a waiter and a writer but his memoirs fell victim to a highly publicized scandal on the Oprah Winfrey Show. He moved back to South Park, met a woman named Rebecca, had a son and took a job at Lake Tardicaca to support his family, but underwent another drug binge. It took an appearance on the TV series Intervention to help him finally kick his drug habit, and move back in with his family.
After a stint working at Medicinal Fried Chicken, he's found a higher calling as a Colorado State Agricultural Inspector and tester, where he uses his unique set of skills to makes sure the marijuana produced by Tegridy Farms and other ranches is pure and safe.
He continues to give towel advice to people in South Park to this day.
